Our CrossFit programming includes a track for those with a beginner to intermediate level of experience (CF Fitness) as well as a Performance track for those that are of an intermediate to advanced level of experience. These programs run during the same scheduled CrossFit classes, and allow us to more appropriately modify the training template to the ability and experience of each individual in class.
CrossFit has defined fitness to be a balance of 10 general physical skills. CrossFit programming at all levels, aims to train these physical skills at some level, in order to achieve the highest level of fitness that each individual can attain. These physical skills are:
Endurance- referring to cardiovascular and respiratory systems and the ability to gather, process and deliver oxygen to the body.
Stamina- the ability of the body systems to process, deliver, store and utilize energy.
Strength- the ability of the muscular unit or combination of units to apply force.
Power- the ability of a muscular unit or combination of units to apply maximal force in minimal time.
Speed- the ability to minimize the time cycle of a repeated movement.
Coordination- the ability to combine several distinct movement patterns into a singular distinct movement.
Agility- the ability to minimize transition time from one movement pattern to another.
Balance- the ability to control the placement of the body’s center of gravity in reaction to its support base.
Accuracy- the ability to control movement in a given direction or at a given intensity.
Flexibility- the ability to maximize range of motion about a given joint.
